Long Distance Racing
There were 30 boats entered to compete in the Cromwell to Clyde long distance race on the 27th of October 2024, amongst flood water from the previous days rain and snow.
The crews that included our Invercargill club members were; Tristan Duffell in a single skiff, Cecelia Russell, Virginia Sweney, Katrina Allan, Jacqui van Dam, Maude O'Connell (CROM), Amanda Puddle (CAMC), Bridget McArthur (NOEC), Robyn Cameron (PCUC) and cox Paule Burke in a composite eight, along with Frank Dean (AWA) , Suzanne Townshend (WHO), Steven Dyer, Mark Hourston, Emily Cullen, Debby Egan, Julie Dyer, Ian Hamilton and cox Tiziana Mazaeda Churruarin in a composite Octi. I have been told Tiziana navigated a perfect course that resulted in several other crews being passed.
